Pennsic Gift Basket Project

For the second year in a row, Mistress Elizabeth Darnley took on the responsibility of organizing the collection of gifts for a Pennsic Gift Basket, to be presented from Their Royal Majesties of the East to another Kingdom. This year, the selected recipients were Their Royal Majesties of the Kingdom of Calontir.

The basket, which was sent via Lady Elisa and Lady Isa to Pennsic, included gifts from many of the citizens of Ruantallan, including:

• Spoons - mold carves & spoons cast by Lord Gilbert the Short
• Wooden Trenchers - Lord Guthfrith Yrlingson
• Cushions - Hand sewn, embroidered and appliqued by Lady Zaneta Gavlinne Angiolieri
• Linens - Lady Isobel Mowbray - linen napkins in tthe period style hand hemmed
• Mugs - Ceramics Painted by Lady Janet Kempe and Lord Lachlan
• Strawberry preserves - Lady Janet from a period receipt
• Pear Compote - Mistress Gwenhyfar a more modern but tastey preserve
• Roman Condiments - HL Yesungge, Stuff Dates, Mustard, Seasoning Salts, and Olive Paste enough for two feast baskets
• Herb Sachets - Mary Elizabeth - from her garden & dried Sage, Thyme and Mint in Cross stitched bags
• Purple Basil, Garlic and Rosemary Herbed Vinegar - Lady Catriana and Lord Rannucio
• Throw Rug - Mistress Bess - needle felt on wool based in design on a 14th C German Wall Hanging depicting the Legend of Tristan
• Cinnamon Ginger Mead - Lord Gareth Grey de Wilton
• Apple Mead - Lord Varenko and Lady Dierdre
