Ruantallan welcomes a new peer

July 20, 2004

A large group of Ruantallaners set off on expedition to Malagentia for this years Great Northeastern War, all but one knowing that great things were in store.

At approximately 10:45am Lady Gwenhwyfar Dinas Emrys was brought before King Kelson, Queen Geneviere, Prince Thorson and Princess Svava under the guise of accepting the punishment of her husband Lord Gareth, who played his role expertly. She was handed a book and told to read a prayer, but the prayer she read was a congratulatory message from her friends, family and her house, on her being welcomed into the Order of the Pelican.

Tears abounded.

Gwenhwyfar spent the rest of the afternoon in vigil, orchestrated expertly by her laurel, Baroness Mistress Suzanne and Lord Gareth Grey de Wilton and assisted by House Golden Oak.

The three hour court of GNE was drawing to a close with one award yet to be given. Gwenhwyfar was lead to her audience with the royals by her husband, Lord Gareth and her Laurel, Baroness Mistress Suzanne. She was followed into court by her house, every member of which was in attendance.

For the Order of the Chivalry, Prince Thorson spoke eloquently of her service. Then spoke Lady Estela du Frayse for the absent Duchess Isabella, her speaker for the Order of the Rose, and brought many to tears. Next was Baron Cenwulf with an emotional account of Gwenhwyfar's service. Finally, for the Order of the Laurel, spoke her own Laurel, Baroness Mistress Suzanne, who spoke highly of her apprentice.

Gwenhwyfar was awarded a beautiful medallion, hand-crafted by Lord D'unstable Peregrinator and designed by her husband Lord Gareth and Lord D'unstable, a gorgeous scroll was constructed by Baron Harold von Auerbach, and finally, she was presented with a stunning beaded and embroidered cloak of green velvet and gold accents and a red hat symbolizing the Order of the Pelican.

And with that, the court of GNEW was closed and Lady Gwenhwyfar became Mistress Gwenhwyfar, member of the Order of the Pelican.
