Officer Reports

- Citizens of the Barony, under the direction of the Dabblers Guild, presented handmade gifts to the Baron and Baroness of Dragon Dormant on the Occasion of Their Investiture.
- Athena's Thimble will be constructing table linens. A scroll in both official Languages was also presented.
- Athena's Thimble are working on Banners for the Barony. They were brought out at the last meeting, Thursday, and are looking very nice.
- Dabbler's Guild are beginning to hold workshops again. Recently a corset workshop was held in Great Village, taught by Mistress Bess Darnley. Four dedicated students attended and had a wonderful time. Future workshops may include Calligraphy and Illumination, Pewter casting and Commercial Pattern Manipulation.
- Several households are holding regular A&S evenings, and afternoons. Projects of many sorts are also popping up at fight practice at the MFRC on Thursday nights as well.
Chatelaine - Mike Burnett
- I was elected in as Baronial Chatelaine in January. I have at this time received most of the items of the office. I am still waiting to receive the final items from Lady Cristiana. She has told me she will be turning the last of the items to me this weekend.
- This first quarter has been a time to locate all the chatelaines’ items of office, sort, hang and repair the gold key clothing, get the discussion list going and settling in. Below is a list of the continuing projects and new projects I am working on.
- Gold Key- The clothing is washed and some is in need of repair. The clothing is now being stored in garment bags on hangers. The storage bins now contain the table settings and accessories (belts/hats/etc) as well as paper for the printer and pamphlets and books.
- Scanner and Printer- I have both items. I also have the box of paper and two new ink cartridges.
- Pamphlets- There are 20 copies of ‘Forward into the past”.
- Chatelaines List- I have invited all the Canton Chatelaines and Seneschals to join the list. Everyone can fully participate in the group. I asked the seneschals to join since they would have to fill in the position if the Chatelaine was not able to fulfill their duties. I am hoping to use it as a tool to pass ideas for recruitment and educational demos. It is also used for reminders of when reports are due and upcoming events and demos.
- Display Packet- I have a packet that will I will be making copies of to pass out to the Canton Chatelaines so they can hang at locations such as libraries, book shops, and game stores: all the places that potential new members frequent.
- Demonstration videos- There are 5 videos that are all out of date. They show people fighting with illegal weapons and have wrong information (members, contact information, historical information). I am going to contact some people about filming new videos so we will have something with the currant members and correct information. Once I get the information on costs and time frames, I will get back to the Baronial curia to see if it is feasible to continue.
- Across the Barony, there are several new people showing up at both practices and events. They have been contacting the SCA thru me, the Canton chatelaines, and present members. This quarter, all the new folks coming to events has been taken care of by the Canton Chatelaines as far as garb and dishes for feast.

- General: Fighting practices in the barony are a little low on participants,
we need to bring up enthusiam. Yesungge reports that scheduling difficulties
are resulting in low turnout in Distant shore. Suggested by Seumas
Tableburner: each month / week, a different fighter "host" the fight
practice, and select a theme for the night, Such as: Polearm practice,
single sword, bearpit, or whatever that fighter wants to do. This would be
more interesting then the typical pickup fighting that generally occurs.

for clairification: requirements for lanyards on two handed weapons used in
one hand, maximum length of a weapon with a butt spike, and maximum length
of a padded polearm. No reply as of yet.
- At the MFRC fight practice on March 14ish, Milord BuchQuannan mac Thamhais
authorized S&S.
