Those who attend fight practice but do not participate in the practice do not need to sign a waiver card.

New Business

  1. SOPS's - proposed changes to the SOP's were distributed to those members of curia who were present. Anyone not receiving a copy can receive them via email. Requests can be sent to Tina.
  2. Ynys Y Gwaed Status. At this point I am told they are suspended until the return to having 5 paid members. Asked Joe to look at the financial laws for the canton in both SCA copora/Exchequers laws and mundane laws. Continue to discuss long term ideas with both Sandra and Mabel. Vivian is going to call someone on the island to see what plans they can come up with. Will send them posters as soon as they are ready. I did propose to Sandra having a Summers end event on the Island for the labour day weekend. No reply as of yet.
  3. Membership form passed around. All members of curia were asked to fill in the SCA numbers and the expiry of their membership, their term numbers (1 or 2) and when their term expired.
  4. Baronial Investiture bid - Discussion about the price of the event. The curia felt that the price was too low and asked the Autocrat to increase the amount allotted for the feast. Also discussed was the Rattan Championship and who would be running it, since it hasn't been confirmed yet and the fee structure. According to the SCA laws, we need to advertise all the prices and put a note below the prices indicating a NMS is in effect for the event.
  5. Posters - the posters are very nice but two of them need the pictures replaced with people from the barony. Also need to make sure we have permission from the people in the posters to use their images.
  6. New event bid form will be available for people to download from the website.
  7. Membership raffles. With the blessing of the Kingdom Seneschal we will obtain a lottery license and hold a draw. Open to all the populace of Ruantallan, the draw will be for New Memberships only. The price of the tickets are yet to be decided. The draw will take place when enough money is collected to purchase a new membership. The membership will be purchased with 14 days of the draw. This is not available for renewals.
  8. Review for the coronet. Members are asked to send letters for or against the current Baronial Coronet to their Majesties.
  9. Next meeting will be held in Distant Shore on the 14th of September (Sunday). Location to be announced.
  10. "Homework Assignment" If you feel your job description does not reflect that of what Kingdom has described please submit it at the next meeting. If you are okay with what Kingdom describes for your officer position on their Laws and Policies site then just submit that portion of the text.
