Old Business

  1. BRC Event report was given by Noseworthy. All went well, although turn-out was less than expected. $22.15 loss. Nicole Chaffey had read and approved the report. The new Defender is Lachlan and the Rapier Champion of Ruantallan is Guthfrith Yrlingson.
  2. War Camp Report? No one to report but general consensus was that it was all good - on average.
  3. Officers for vacant Baronial Curia positions: Chatelaine: Only candidate Tina Oliver. Voted in all good; above average. Chronicler: Sarah Paterson and Mike Reid both had put their names forward for the position. As it was uncertain as to whether or not Mike had actually withdrawn his name, it was decided that a vote was still the only fair approach. Sarah asked and it was agreed that she would be absent for the vote. Sarah was voted in as Chronicler. ( something about a broken computer....).

New Business

  1. Queen favours reimbursement of $41.07 - Voted & Passed .
  2. Athena's Thimble: Baronial Regalia Tablecloth repairs. The curia agreed that this cost would be covered up to $50.00 - reimbursement to occur with receipts. Motioned by Sarah, seconded by Jenny. Voted & Passed
  3. Donation from Baronial Curia to Heart & Stroke Foundation for Lord Riobard.$50.00. Motioned by Joe, seconded by Keith. Voted & Passed. Discussion of encouraging groups to fund raise their own donations at up-coming events.
  4. Bayeaux Tapestry request - $50.00 for paints & brushes. Discussion ensued. Resolved that Curia did not know enough about the project to make a decision at this time. Tabled.
  5. Event Bid Twelfth Night - Lois Perry - Some changes from original posted email bid:
    • Brianna (Wendy Regular) to co-autocrat.
    • KA has changed due to the loss of Lord Riobard. Mestressa Elan has taken his place but is using Riobard's menu & recipes.
    • Site fee has dropped to $100.00 from 150.00 as it is now the same site as EKU.
    • Feast budget was increased by 100.00. Based on 50 in attendance.
    • Planned activities: Cod Piece contest, Dancing, Game tournament based on one particular game., juggling class, children's activities including children voice heralding the event.
    • $10-12 cost - curia encouraged $12.00.

Motioned by Keith to accept bid, Seconded by Joe. Voted & passed.

  6. Baronial Bardic Champion discussion. Diane was wondering how others felt about the bardic Championship. Should this champion be treated in the same way as the fighting & archery champions? All agreed that this would be appropriate. After discussion it was suggested by Lois that 12th Night would be pleased to host the next championship - and after more discussion it was decided that 12th night be the traditional baronial event that host all future Baronial Bardic Championships. Diane was asked by Keith to plan the bardic competition should the current champion be unable to attend. She agreed with the caveat that she could enter and not judge.

    Vote & Passed.

Mike asked for any other business, then called for a second to adjourn. Joe obliged. Meeting adjourned 3:54 pm.
